We live in a world that celebrates the instant — instant food, instant results, instant success. But faith doesn’t work that way. God grows us slowly, step by step, as we walk with Him.
In Matthew 25, Jesus tells a story about three servants. Two were faithful, one was fearful. The faithful servants heard the most beautiful words ever spoken by the Master:
“Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord."
(Matthew 25:21, 23)
Isn’t that what we all long to hear one day?
The sermon this week challenged us to rethink what it really means to follow Jesus — not as a burden, but as a blessing. It’s a call to what we might call “E3 Christianity” — a life that is Enjoyable, Easy, and Effective.
1️⃣ Enjoyable Faith — Discovering Joy in the Journey
When we truly understand what it means to walk with God, obedience moves from duty to desire.
We stop asking, “Do I have to go to church?” and start saying, “I get to worship God with His people!”
We realize that God isn’t a distant dictator waiting for us to fail — He’s a loving Father who wants to walk beside us. Even when we stumble, His grace meets us there.
As 1 John 1:7 reminds us:
“If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.”
That’s enjoyable Christianity — living in relationship with the God who loves us and calls us His children.
2️⃣ Easy Faith — Taking It One Step at a Time
“Easy” doesn’t mean effortless. It means possible.
Jesus said,
“My yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:30)
How can that be true? Because we live this faith one day at a time. You can’t live tomorrow’s challenges today — God gives strength for each day as it comes.
And when you’ve given your heart away to Christ, following Him isn’t a chore. It’s a joy.As the sermon reminded us, Christianity is easy when you’re in love with Jesus.
3️⃣ Effective Faith — Bearing Fruit for God
An effective faith makes a difference. It changes us, and through us, it touches others. Jesus said,
“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit.” (John 15:8)
True discipleship doesn’t just check boxes — it bears fruit that lasts: kindness, compassion, courage, faithfulness.
And when we walk daily with Him, our lives start to produce what He planted — love, service, and spiritual growth that glorify God.
🌿 Step by Step
You can’t microwave maturity. You can’t download discipleship.
But you can walk with God — one step, one prayer, one act of faith at a time. And if you do, when your walk is over, you’ll hear those words that make it all worth it:
“Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
(Matthew 25:21, 23)
Maybe your first step was just coming to worship today. Maybe your next step is baptism, or coming back home to God. Whatever it is, take it — because a walk with God always begins with one step.
