No. Churches of Christ are independent congregations seeking to follow Christ through Scripture. We have no human founder, headquarters, secret teaching, or authority above the Bible. Rather than accept a label, test what we teach by God’s word.
Test Every Claim by Scripture
Scripture commended the Bereans for “examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so” (Acts 17:11) and commands, “Test everything; hold fast what is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21). We invite the same careful examination of every sermon and practice.
Christ Is the Head
God “gave him as head over all things to the church” (Ephesians 1:22). Therefore, no president, council, or preacher has authority to create doctrine. Each congregation is accountable to Christ through His revealed word, the Bible.
Leadership Without Control
Biblical leaders must serve by example, “not domineering over those in your charge” (1 Peter 5:3). Questions are welcomed, Scripture must remain open, and faith must never be enforced through secrecy, coercion, or control.
Come See for Yourself
At the Temple Terrace church of Christ, you are welcome to open the Bible, ask hard questions, and compare our teaching with Scripture.
